Merry Monday – December 17th

Mark your calendars for Monday, December 17th for Merry Monday, a Fulford Village tradition going back a generation or two.  On this special night – always on the last Monday before Christmas – islanders and lucky visitors gather around a fire in the festively lit parking lot of the Salt Spring Mercantile, share local hot apple cider and sing holiday favourites together.  The sing-along is lead by Salt Spring’s own Canadian folk legend Valdy. It’s one of those community events that warms you to the tips of your mittens no matter what the weather is doing – and this community gathering has never once been cancelled due to weather.
Fulford Village merchants will be open late, serving up side dishes of cheer and offering specials.  What a perfect opportunity to get those great Salt Spring finds for friends and loved ones!
Carolling gets underway when the 5:50 ferry leaves the harbour and continues until the 7:50 ferry arrives.  Villagers ask you bring your own mug ~ they’ll provide the cheer. Fulford Village – it’s worth the trip!
